I’m empathetic, a good listener and a nurturer - ultimately all elements of being an excellent communicator; something I’m incredibly passionate about. The ability to communicate effectively is key to every animal (in this case human) relationship, so I’m fortunate to get paid to communicate successfully. But there’s always room for improvement, so I’m currently working towards achieving the Certificate in Foundation Journalism. And, despite having a Diploma in Marketing, I’m taking a Digital Marketing course, just to make sure I’m up to date with latest thinking.Being able to communicate successfully is key when I’m planning and organising events; something I love to do, especially as I have excellent planning and organisational skills and an eye for detail – I have a forensic eye when proof reading copy! I’ve demonstrated these skills when delivering several Sales conferences for over 150 delegates. I enjoy the whole process of receiving the initial request, asking relevant questions to understand objectives, researching options, communicating with speakers, delegates and third party suppliers and then watching the whole thing come together. It gives me a huge sense of satisfaction! It’s crucial the business has measurements in place to understand the effectiveness of its communications and events. I’ve regularly created surveys to get feedback and used this insight to refine and adapt future activity. I’m all about identifying ways to add value, increase engagement and deliver excellence.I’ve had the privilege of developing direct reports to help them achieve their professional ambitions, which is another aspect of team membership that I really value. Cooperation and collaboration within my own team and with others enhances workplace relationships and helps us deliver quality outcomes. Although, I find the same applies to being a choir member – a wonderfully collaborative experience and an audible example of how people working together can create something beautiful!
