As the Programs, Outreach and Youth Services Manager for Monterey County Free Libraries (MCFL), I provide library services to over 200,000 individuals across 3,000 square miles via 16 branch libraries and 3 bookmobiles. I supervise two direct reports, oversee MCFL's Reading Machine vehicle (early literacy outreach), 10 Homework Centers, MCFL's social media.

Scheduled monthly meetings for SPLAMBA (School Public Library Association of the Monterey Bay Area), created agenda, facilitated discussion during meetings. Worked with committee to arrange annual workshop for March 2021.

As a Youth Services Librarian for Monterey Public Library, I served as the lead coordinator for programs and services targeted towards Kindergarten-5th graders. I worked with staff to plan and conduct the Summer Reading Program, as well as created and implemented the library’s first Winter Reading Program: developing the reading logs, purchasing prize.

In this part-time position, another aide and I created and led a week long science series for elementary school kids on Spring Break. Each program in the series was an hour long and the series ran for 5 days. Each program had 60-100 participants. I also filled in for storytimes as needed.My day-to-day job duties involved shelving library materials.

My first job with "librarian" in the title! In this position I worked hours at the Downtown and Children's branches of the Palo Alto Public Library system. In both locations I worked the reference desk to assist patrons with reference needs in person, over the phone and through email. I helped other librarians with programs they were conducting and updated.

Gaining a ton of storytime experience, in this position my sole responsibility was planning and conducting storytimes! I selected age appropriate materials and conducted storytimes for groups of children ages 2-5, as well as babies, three times a week. Participants at these storytimes ranged from 70-100 people per storytime.
