I began my career conducting neuroscience research and cognitive therapy inpopulations with brain damage or disease. Part of my research allowed me to workwith active duty and retired military and gave me a passion for addressing nationalsecurity needs and warfighter safety. This work led to a position with Lockheed Martinbuilding autonomous systems that adapt to operator needs, novel AI/ML models fromemerging biotechnology sensors for warfighter health metrics, and cognitively designedaids for performance. I grew in my position to run company-wide research initiativesguided by pressing defense needs and long-term moonshot potential. After working foryears on research with small and innovative companies, I was asked to join LockheedMartin’s Venture Capital division.In the Lockheed Martin Ventures’ group I develop strategic investment strategies inbiotechnology, human potential, digital transformation, and advanced manufacturinggeared towards solving critical national security problems. In my role, I sourceinnovation world-wide to invest in and execute strategic programs between startupsand Lockheed Martin, bringing to market critical capabilities in transatlantic defenseand security.
