With a middle level mathematics and science certification, I am confident that I will make an excellent addition to your school.As you will see in the enclosed resume, this December I will have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Level Education with emphasis in Mathematics and Science. I will be obtaining my Ohio licensure in Mathematics and Science in grades four through nine following graduation. During the first eight weeks of my student teaching I taught fifth grade math in a suburban elementary school. During this time I developed successful teaching practices for fifth grade math. The second eight weeks of my student teaching is in an eighth grade science classroom where I implemented an astronomy unit. I also incorporated technology in this unit by using a “Wikispace” as an online discussion forum. My volunteer work as an afterschool tutor for urban ELL students has given me the ability to effectively teach diverse students. Working many summers at Camp Carl has given me the communication skills to work well with my colleges and parents. It would be a privilege to become a science and mathematics teacher at your school.
