Alexandra Murdoch focuses her policy development and government relations work on delivering impact & results in a collaborative, purpose-driven setting. She has significant exposure with a broad range of complex, non-partisan public policy initiatives (from concept, strategy, design and proposal, through implementation, monitoring and reporting) and experiences within conservation and health services.Currently, she serves as Senior Policy Advisor for Natural Climate Solutions at the Nature Conservancy.Previously, she served as the Vice President of Conservation Finance and Policy for American Forests. American Forests has been protecting and restoring forests for more than 140 years. From climate change and equity to biodiversity and water availability, forests are at the center of our most important environmental challenges. Prior to joining American Forests, she directed the federal policy and legislative initiatives of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to further the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay and the rivers and streams that feed it. Her work focused on defending the historic federal-state initiative to save the Chesapeake Bay by increasing congressional will and developing and securing the federal resources needed to succeed. Prior to joining Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Ms. Murdoch managed social marketing, behavior change and social mobilization programs internationally and provided program management services as a consultant. She volunteers widely in the Washington D.C. community, particularly to improve the natural environment in the city for the benefit of all residents. Ms. Murdoch graduated from Hamilton College and received a Juris Doctorate and Certificate in Public Policy from the Catholic University Columbus School of Law.
