With the use of manuals, construction and equipment drawings, standards, regulations, technical procedures and instructions.•Conduct electrical tests, interpret the results & write reports on tests substation equipment such as circuit breakers, cables & transformers, distribution transformer & switchgear testing following overhaul &/or repair; earth testing, portable tool & equipment testing; voltage testing & fault finding in Substations using record management systems with the use of insulation resistance testers, Micro Ohm meters, voltmeters, Multimeters & other specialised testing equipment such as sequence timers, Torkel testers (battery test equipment), profile tester (Circuit Breaker secondary & Primary circuit timing test set) and ratiometers on cables & primary equipment. •Carry out general metal fabrication & earth grid bonding using oxy/acetylene cutting, welding & Cadwelding process. •Undertake sampling, testing & filtering of oil & gas in substations’ equipment.•Undertake general maintenance of substations buildings.•Operate plant such as crane & task trucks, EPV, forklift, motor vehicle (car, MR Trucks), compressor, hydraulic crimper, portable generators, pumps & other plant in the Substations group during construction & maintenance. •Trained & authorised to undertake Zone Substation and field operating switching duties as required & hold authorities to Receive Access Permits & Apply for Access permits•Contribute to the planning, preparation & provide assistance in the development of detailed estimates & the organisation of materials.•Provide liaison with Plant Maintenance Officers to achieve resolution of priority faults Show less
