Responsible for the management and smooth operation of all office and production computer systems and networking administration for an operation that employs over 100 people and approximately 150 computer systems. Introduced web based mail system and online document sharing and videoconferencing to improve communications between warehouses in Edmonton and Barrie and retail locations in Edmonton.Upgraded network backbone from 100MB to Gigabit. Oversaw switchover from Telus ADSL to Shaw Big Pipe. Responsible for daily backups and testing. Database administration - migration from Access 97 to SQL. Operation and troubleshooting of Xerox DocuColor 5000s.

Responsible for VOIP/Videoconferencing maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting on several public and private sector contracts working with Polycom VSX, HDX, ReadiManager and Global Management System and Mitel voice systems. Also some experience working with desktop system rollouts.

Primary support role responsible for maintaining, support, and administration ofLAN/WAN mainframe networks, workstations and peripheral equipment in a school environment with over 700 students, 50 staff, and 250 computer systems. Evaluated, installed, and configured hardware, software and operating systems on a variety of platforms – Debian/Redhat Linux, Windows 2000/2003 Server, and OS 9/X Server 10.1 to 10.4 Tiger. Implemented staff account/shared folder transition to OS X Server’s Open Directory, merging Open Directory with Windows Server 2003’s Active Directory services. Initial design, content, and maintenance for intranet and public web sites using Dreamweaver, MySQL, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, and Applescript in varied applications ( shared calendars, a staff updated current events page, web based daily announcements)Administration and troubleshooting for 3COM and Cisco network switches. Managed switchover from AppleTalk to a TCP/IP based network. With limited resources at hand, designed and maintained an internet connection making use of a variety of connection methods to ensure constant access – including dialup, wireless radio, satellite, and ISDN 56kbps dedicated lines. Assisted with installation and network transition to fiber optic lines for the Supernet connection.
