Aug 2014 - Senior Housing risk and operations consulting. We work with senior housing owner/operators in reducing hospitalizations that ultimately increase average length of stay. We introduce your communities to advanced diagnostic testing through your physician relationships that reduces ER/hospitalizations. Our flagship product is Pharmacogenetics, which is a DNA test that significantly reduces adverse drug reactions in the elderly population (1 in 3 hospitalizations for those 75 and older are attributed to adverse drug reactions). We are also finalizing an education program for physicians who provide 24-hour on call services to independent living, assisted living and memory care. Currently there is an education gap with physicians in truly knowing the intricacies of the different models. In addition, we are incorporating geriatrics training as the vast majority of physicians are in fact physician assistants/nurse practitioners fresh out of medical school. Educating physicians as to how they can play a pivotal role in areas like early UTI/gastro/respiratory diagnosis and when to integrate proactive interventions in fall prevention reduces hospitalizations, while increasing average length of stay by 4-8 months easily. Prior Experience17 years as a risk management & operations consultant for the senior housing industry (skilled nursing, assisted living, Independent living, CCRC's), provided consulting to two tele-health companies targeting senior housing to improve market penetration, also collaborate with physician groups, hospitals and assisted living owner/operators interested reducing hospital re-admission rates. We have consulted with thousands of senior housing clients on various risk/operational issues over the last two decades.
