My position at NeuroNexus focuses on the fabrication of neural probes. The Lurie Nanofabrication Facility at the University of Michigan provides the tools and facilities to make neural probes. The probes are thin-film electrodes that utilize thin-film MEM technologies. The probes are silicon based and may incorporate multiple electrodes in a given probe shaft. I employ CVD (chemical vapor deposition), thermal oxidation, photo-lithography, dry and wet etching processes, PVD (physical vapor deposition) and annealing processes to make neural probes.

Milford Proving

I verified Federal vehicle emission calibration standards and related corporate standards through performing audits at General Motors, competitor, and government vehicle emission laboratories in Arizona, California, Colorado, Michigan and New York. I validated that test sites met the calibration and operational procedures needed to achieve both the federally mandated vehicle emission test results and the corporation's standards using emission analyzers, environmental monitors (ambient temperatures, barometric pressure, and humidity), vehicle exhaust collection systems (constant flow volume-venturi), and dynamometers (twin roll and 48-inch AVL and Horiba single roll). I wrote and submitted reports to the laboratory manager discussing my findings with the level of compliance with Federal and corporate emission test standards. I also analyzed and identified sources of error in collected data, whether computer or instrument related.I successfully prevented a recall of several engine families by the State of California; thereby, saving the corporation several million dollars.Prior to engineering audits at vehicle emission laboratories, I performed calibrations, repaired emission analyzers (Beckman, Bendix, Horiba), evaporative emission enclosures (SHED- sealed housing evaporative determination), exhaust collection systems and dynamometers.
