I grew up in San Jose, CA playing my high school football for Oak Grove HS where in 2008 I was named Most Valuable Defensive Back. After high school, I played two seasons with City College of San Francisco and in 2010 I helped lead the team to a 12-1 record and a win at the NorCal Championship. In my freshman year with City College, I recorded five interceptions, one of which I took back for a touchdown. I then went on to play two seasons with Kansas State where in my senior season I had 57 tackles, five interceptions, one interception returned for a touchdown and 10 passes defended. One of my most noteworthy games of the 2012-13 season came against Oklahoma State when I had three interceptions (one for a pick six) and was named the FBS Defensive Player of the Week.I'm known for being an instinctive cornerback with great field awareness. I'm athletic, quick at flipping my hips and easily transition off the line with opponents. I effectively read receiver's eyes, display good route recognition in zone coverage and keep the action in front of him. In May 2013, the Indianapolis Colts signed me after their rookie minicamp – I was the only player at the tryout to be signed.
