My name is Allie Cooper, and I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. I am majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in both French and Leadership Studies, and I am in the Honors Leadership Program. My primary involvements/activities at Tennessee include serving the YWCA as part of my sorority's philanthropy committee, coordinating with alumni as a member of Student Alumni Associates, and volunteering to provide healthcare to low-income families across Tennessee with Remote Area Medical. In regards to my personal leadership goals, my vision is to change children's perceptions of doctors and to make a difference in this community. To accomplish this vision, my personal mission is to become a doctor who seeks to positively impact the lives of others. Whether it be helping a sick patient or making a coworker smile on a rough day, I feel it is my duty as a leader to be a light of joy to others. Overall, this vision and mission reflect my values:-Respect: Admiring someone or something for their novel ideas or qualities. Giving people space when they need it and displaying politeness and kindness towards others. Being willing to accept differences and behave towards others in a way that does not cause offense.-Patience: Being able to wait something out or endure something tedious. Bearing pains or trials without complaining or becoming annoyed.-Empathy: Remaining aware of others’ emotions and attempting to understand or feel what they are experiencing. Actively responding to the needs of others and making an effort to recognize their contributions so that they feel valued and understood.-Authenticity: Displaying honesty, dependability, and trustworthiness in all relationships and encounters. Not attempting to hide one's true self behind a mask. Being real and genuine.-Intentionality: Being deliberate and purposeful in all actions.
