As media and communications manager at Save the Children Action Network, the political advocacy arm of Save the Children, I focused on promoting our key issues, early childhood education in the U.S. and global maternal and child health, in local, state and national media.I graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2013 and have a degree in journalism and mass communication with a concentration in popular culture. My past journalism experience includes political reporting for the Houston Chronicle and other Hearst newspapers in their Washington, D.C. bureau, producing nightly newscasts at WHO-HD in Des Moines, design work at the Gannett Design Studio in Des Moines, and holding several leadership positions at The Daily Iowan, the independent student-run newspaper in Iowa City, Iowa, including television news director.
