Graphic designer, data visualizer, event coordinator: media creator. Luddy Indianapolis Career Services helps students and alumni find opportunities that are right for them - mine just happened to be right here! As the Graphic Design and Media Creator II, I design print media, social media promos and page branding, event branding such as logos, as well as manage and design the Career Builder Biweekly, a career-centric newsletter for students. I specialize in collaborative, interactive designs - designs that invite onlookers to look closer, to take pictures, to scan QR codes. I use Canva to work with my team on large scale data visualization projects and Photoshop and Illustrator to work my branding magic.

The purpose of my internship is to experiment and refine my skills as a designer. I create designs to inform and advertise Career Services events and opportunities, as well as posting these designs to social media. More responsibilities include representing Luddy at career events, maintaining a consistent brand identity online, and communicating with my team for constant feedback, critique, and improvement. Throughout the course of my internship, I use Canva and the Adobe Creative Cloud to create layouts and custom designs for digital promos, event signage, and flyers around campus. I also manage the email newsletter for career services, writing the content, designing the layout, and developing a consistent schedule and promotional strategies.

My role as the Interactive Media Intern encompasses all facets of design. I work not only as a UX & UI Designer, but also as a Principal Designer, Art Director, and Technical Artist. Projects include:- Designing effective and cohesive user interfaces and experiences for exhibit interactives- Creating high fidelity comprehensives from wireframes in Figma- Creating custom graphics and icons in Adobe Illustrator- Curating narratives through gameplay experiences by adapting scripts into interactives- Painting and editing textures for use in 3D VR interactivesThe Children's Museum of Indianapolis is full of inspiring, creative minds who I had the honor of working with over the course of Summer 2024. Through my internship I was able to meet professionals across several fields of interest, including interactive design, exhibit development, and graphic design. I was able to participate in discussions regarding future projects, engage in brainstorming efforts, work together with teams across the museum, and produce meaningful results after weeks of research, iteration, and collaboration.

I worked in a fast-paced outdoor environment and adapted quickly to training. I especially enjoyed keeping rapport with returning customers as well introducing new customers to the process. I was the top salesperson during the Father's Day 2022 book sale at my location.
