Allison Bassett is the Director of Choral Activities at Cleveland High School in Portland Oregon. She recently graduated from Portland State University where she worked with Dr. Ethan Sperry and Debra Glaze as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Choral and Music Education Departments. She conducted the PSU Man Choir and University choirs, taught undergraduate education courses and was the soprano section leader in PSU Chamber choir. Allison has her Master of Arts in Teaching and is a licensed k-12 music and theatre educator in the state of Oregon. She has been teaching for seven years and most recently was the Director of Choral and Theatre Arts at Marshfield high school before being accepted into the Masters program at Portand State. Allison served as the Fine and Performing Arts department chair at MHS from 2013-2016, served OMEA District VII in positions of leadership for three years, and has been the co-manager for the OMEA All-State Men's Choir since 2018.---Allison is also a renaissance creative by night. She loves collaboration and all things art and design. Throughout the last 10 years, she has acquired working and advanced knowledge of many design tools and software as well as web design skills on many platforms. She creates and designs work of her own including websites, design projects, and illustrations. She also designs and creates work for others. She listens to their needs, brainstorms and produces process work for them to evaluate before designing the final projects. She thrives on the creative process and prioritizes making strong connections with those she works with to make sure the end result meets their needs exactly.I am user focused. I thrive on stepping into someone else's shoes to best predict how they may interact with the world around them. I take time to analyze each interaction point on a website, looking for intuitive flow, and always keep equity at the forefront of my designs. I carefully curate design and artistic elements to evoke a desired experience in the user, try and find ways to build in moments of surprise and delight.I believe my unique background and skills gives me quirky superpowers in the world of art and design for web development and I am eager to help bring clean and delightful design to eager clients and users.
