About Allison Harmon
I am a current Biology Master’s student and full time research assistant under Erik Settles at Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and a minor in Chemistry. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a researcher with the John Altin Immunology lab at TGen North, gaining experience in genomics workflows and continuing my work with flow cytometry and cell culturing. After completing my undergraduate degrees, I joined the Pathogen and Microbiome Institute under Erik Settles, primarily working on projects for vaccine development for Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis) through T cell receptor sequencing, and detection assay and vaccine platform assessment for melioidosis (burkholderia pseudomallei), plague (yersinia pestis), and Ebola virus through production of hybridomas and monoclonal antibodies and T cell and B cell receptor sequencing. My research interests include immunology, infectious disease, vaccine development, and development of diagnostic assays. Outside of work and school, I am an amateur aerial silks artist, baker, and gardener!
