Currently, I work at West Florida Hospital on an Orthopedic Floor. My Prefered Qualifications are as follows:• Over 10 years experience in an inpatient setting.• Demonstrated skills in patient care including vital signs, minor wound care and dressing, lifting and turning of patients.• Demonstrated written communication skills.• Demonstrated skills identifying major bones and joints.• Familiarity with traction equipment, set-up and application.knowledge of anatomy and physiology.• Knowledge of care of patients with minor trauma injuries, minor patient care procedure.•Knowledge of medical documentation.• Working knowledge of traction application.knowledge of good oral and written communication skills. •Knowledge of proper body mechanics. • Ability to lift patients and equipment. • Ability to identify and evaluate problems with casts, drains, IV site, splints and orthopedic appliances. • Ability to identify problems with circulation and skin integrity related to use of orthopedic treatments and modalities and refer to appropriate provider. • Ability to apply basic knowledge of fracture management to patient care. • Ability to use proper techniques of body mechanics in application of casts and splints and performance of other job duties as a Nurse Intern II in order to gain new skills on a high acuity floor. RESPONSIBILITIES:Travel within a designated territory. Cross-over coverage during emergencies may be necessary.Provide pacemaker & ICD follow-up to Biotronik patients and physician customers on demand.Provide pacemaker & ICD implant support within area of geographic responsibility on demand.Train sales representatives in cardiac pacing, Biotronik products and competitor products using materials provided by the training department.

Acquires, maintains, and integrates knowledge of scientific principles, and derived technology-based interventions and therapies in cardiac pacing and defibrillation. Performs cardiac rhythm management device evaluation via device interrogation; analysis and reprogramming based on individual patient needs and recommended and approved guidelines. Programs device parameters, controlling for optimal safety, longevity and needs of approximately 400 patients per month in device clinic and approximately monitors 500 patients using Carelink, Latitude and Merlin home monitoring systems . Recognizes and notifies supervisor and/or doctor of any suspected problems regarding malfunction of pacemaker, recommended replacement times and arrhythmia. Applies technical knowledge to minimize device related symptoms and related complications. Participates in the monitoring of patients with devices under advisory or recall to include implementing appropriate/recommended strategies, educating the families. Performs, documents and processes remote device follow-up according to guidelines, assuring charges are properly processed. Demonstrates initiative and judgment with minimal supervision. Utilizes effective communication skills with patients and/or family members to obtain cooperation and compliance with device.
