I counsel patients about their procedures in English or French and provide a safe, patient-centered space in which they are empowered to make informed decisions about their bodies and health. I assist the Manager & the Chief Medical Officer with numerous and varied tasks required in a busy medical practice. I often receive positive feedback for my work & phone support.

I plan and facilitate recreational activities for Indigenous Youth. I assist with schoolwork and projects. I provide coaching and transportation for school, medical appointments, mental health appointments and day trips. I attend brainstorming sessions and help with case planning, working closely with a team of social workers to attend to the mental & physical health needs of our youth clients. I have ASIST Mental Health & St. John Ambulance First Aid training, as well as clear Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector.

I booked appointments and provided support to patients in English and French. I worked closely with the head counselor and often assisted counseling our Anglophone patients. I provided pre-procedure counseling for Francophone patients and offered OR support when needed. I often performed basic translation services as needed. I assisted the manager with daily office tasks, including updating the website, balancing petty cash and counting & making bank deposits. I coordinated clinic volunteers including their training and scheduling. I greeted and checked in patients on clinic days. I often received positive feedback from clients and families for my warm, friendly and non-judgmental demeanor.

I supervised the design of the website for the Paul Brown Show, a morning radio show, in Edmonton, AB. I kept the website updated, using html code, by adding text, video and audio files.

I was responsible for running a busy clothing store in downtown Victoria. I was in charge of hiring, firing, merchandising, scheduling & supervising staff and balancing large amounts of cash at the end of the day, week, and month. I worked hard to provide a shopping experience that surpassed clients' expectations. While I was manager, our store exceeded our budgeted sales expectations every month.

I learned about and assisted in the running of a thriving small business. I was responsible for supervising staff, merchandising, doing the books and making deposits as well as some buying for the upscale boutique. Customer service has been of the utmost importance, and I helped to provide a knowledgeable, friendly and helpful environment for the public.

I was responsible for developing imaging procedures for scholarly e-publishing projects. I assisted in the development of metadata and databases for tracking high volumes of digital images. I was responsible for the centre’s 4x5 PowerPhase digital camera. I have helped teach a fourth year course at UNB, and have done numerous presentations and demonstrations of the Centre’s capabilities. I was also responsible for running the busy imaging office and supervising the graphic designers and part time students who work on imaging & design projects. My responsibilities also included working as part of team on various projects. This included using basic SGML and HTML markup, OCR software, WordPerfect, Microsoft Office and imaging software. I also helped to write and edit grant applications, marketing initiatives and other Electronic Text Centre documents.
