Communications Director
Current• Develops and implements strategic communications to effectively share Centennial's key strategies and goals through various initiatives and programs while encouraging stakeholder engagement• Advises and supports executive leadership and elected officials in matters relating to internal/external communications, community relations/engagement, media relations, marketing/advertising, special events, and website and social media management in support of organization mission.• Manages $1.4M department budget and four person staff.• Prepares and manages proactive and dynamic public information, media relations and marketing programs to inform and educate the public, to positively influence public opinion. This includes:o Serving as the City’s spokesperson, as well as preparing key messaging and media training for subject matter experts;o Identifying proactive public engagement opportunities through activities, events and digital marketingo Responding to crisis and emergency situations;o Maintaining and establishing active working relationships with key stakeholders including media o Manages/directs the department’s marketing, advertising and video production support to various programs, initiatives and City services o Oversees the City’s website and social media program.
