I have two distinct career paths: higher ed academic administration and theatre. Academic administration: Over 20 years of experience in higher education administration at Stanford University, Northern Illinois University, Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Texas San Antonio.I also own and operate Typestream Editing, a copyediting and proofreading service company for the academic and business community. We work with academic publishers, PhD candidates, marketing departments, non-native English speakers, self-publishing authors, and academic scholars in the humanities, performing arts, and business.Theatre: An actor, improviser, and teacher who specializes in Meisner technique, voice and dialect work, Shakespeare, and utilizing theatrical pedagogy to teach improvisers. I have worked as a stage actor, producer, director, and stage manager for over 20 years, been a teacher and coach for 10 years, and performed as an improviser for almost a decade. I studied at the Moscow Art Theatre, ACT, Stella Adler Studio, Second City, iO, the Annoyance, and many other schools, and performed in theaters from New Hampshire to Chicago to San Francisco. I work as a dialect and acting coach with both scripted actors and improvisers, and I studied and teacher trained under Kathryn Gately while pursuing an MFA in Acting at Northern Illinois University.
