As the Director of Instructional Design Services, I am responsible for planning and executing custom e-learning projects for clients. In this role, I work with clients to understand their needs and scope and plan custom solutions. During project execution, I lead teams of creative learning professionals and provide technical and creative direction while managing project scope, budget, and quality. I actively cultivate and maintain relationships with multiple, diverse clients and foster collaboration between internal and client teams.

As co-owner and co-founder at STREETCAR8, I led the design and development of custom e-learning solutions for a wide variety of clients and partners. I managed multiple, concurrent projects, provided technical and creative leadership, and managed vendors and contractors. In addition, I was involved with developing new business opportunities and partnerships.

In this role, I led a team of training developers and instructors in creating and delivering training to staff in the U.S. and India. My primary focus areas was facilitating integration of business through timely business process and system training.I assisted in the achievement of operational goals through learning needs assessments and training based on production / quality measures and process evaluation. My team also enabled new business development by conducting business process analysis, developing learning strategies and customizing procedures, educating staff and clients, and addressing post-implementation issues.

While pursuing my PhD in Human Resource Development (ABD), I assisted with teaching and supporting online degree courses, including Learning Technologies, Principles of Human Resource Development, and Organization Development. During this time, I also conducted research on mobile learning, technology-enhanced learning, onboarding, communities of practice, and informal learning.

In this role, I managed development of a blended learning curriculum for a multi-campus ERP implementation. This included leading a team of internal and contract instructional designers and ensuring instructional quality and learning outcomes by implementing project-wide instructional design, delivery, and evaluation processes. After the project ended, I transitioned to a role identifying training and development needs within the Human Resources function, leading and executing projects, and developing a program for high-potential employees.

In this role, I supported rapid development and phased system implementation by establishing flexible training and education strategies. I supported cost reduction and increased time to proficiency by developing and delivering e-learning, webcasts, and instructor-led training. I also enabled adoption of team collaboration software by globally-distributed employees by developing on-demand micro-learning videos. I also supported just-in-time learning by creating accessible documentation, job aids, release communications, and educational webcasts.

In this role, I helped establish the learning & development function at a fast-growing global technology firm. This included creating talent development policies, gaining stakeholder funding, and implementing planning tools and processes. I also facilitated career development and succession planning by creating performance and competency profiles for approximately 40 technical jobs.

While at Bellsouth, I supported the onboarding of engineers by designing and developing instructor-led and online training on various technical topics. During that time, I supported cost-savings and training efficiency by converting 80% of instructor led curriculum to online and blended instruction. In addition, I enabled talent development processes by creating performance and competency profiles for IT professionals, which helped ensure talent retention and clear development paths for highly technical roles.
