Perform processing, research and clerical tasks related to the archive;Perform basic preservation tasks associated with stabilizing photographic and archival materials;Provide research and reference assistance to patrons; Provide basic organization and description of and public access to the materials; Prepare electronic and paper finding aids for the collection;Perform tasks such as data entry, filing, scanning, etc.; Perform cataloging support activities in relation to archival collections, such as searching print and online sources;Process archival collections in accordance with accepted national standards for sorting, arranging, listing and describing photographic and non-book materials as well as Institute style guides for publication or web usage; Create preliminary inventories and container lists;Analyze materials for topical content; Perform related research as necessary, and establish organizational schemes. Carry out some or all of the following activities in support of the physical preservation of the collections: House, rehouse or buffer items in appropriate enclosures and containers; Identify items in need of special treatment;Photocopy, scan or coordinate reproduction photography.
