Early Head Start Home Visitor
CurrentProvided in-home Early Head Start services to infants and children aged birth to three and their families. Worked together with parents on their child’s school readiness skills, language acquisition, behavior identification and management, fine and gross motor skills, social-emotional development, with an emphasis on the importance that the parent is the child’s first teacher. I connected families in need with other valuable services such as Section 8, WIC, SNAP, The Madonna Place, Safe Futures, Diaper Grants, Operation Warm, and Birth to Three. Maintained a caseload of 10, composed case notes for each visit using ChildPlus software, and communicated with doctor’s offices to retain updated physicals and dental assessments. I recorded observations and weighed them against developmental milestones using the software SmartTeach to provide progress reports to families. I made use of Brigance and DECA assessments to measure development and communicated these results to parents in an effective way. Was responsible for creating a monthly newsletter for our program to distribute to families as well as creating flyers for various events we held for families. I had the opportunity to create my lessons using a curriculum known as Parents as Teachers. I also was responsible for tracking monthly funding distribution by calculating time spent in the home and parent time spent volunteering each month.
