The two primary responsibilities of my role are providing ongoing case management for CAP clients on 2-year housing vouchers and managing rental assistance applications. In this role, and through previous experience in outreach and research, I have developed a working knowledge of programs across CAP and resources across the city, including.

In this role, I observed eviction court in Multnomah County twice a week. I kept detailed notes on various measurable and anecdotal data points regarding observable tenant experience in the courtroom. This work familiarized me with the structural biases against tenants in the court’s eviction process. Conversing with people who were getting evicted helped.
