My research is motivated by big-picture questions in evolutionary biology, including those surrounding the origin of novelty and morphological diversification. In my current doctoral work, I study skull shape evolution and the functional morphology of feeding within Otomorpha, a group of freshwater and marine bony fishes that spans seven orders and ~11,000 species.
