Allyson created & financed Sauce Magazine from her South City apartment in 1999 to help elevate the culinary community she had worked in for many years prior to the inception of the magazine.Allyson has always been fascinated by food and the publishing industry (her father was a lifelong multi-city newspaper publisher). While juggling multiple restaurant jobs, she conceived and developed an online-only magazine and restaurant guide in 1999. She went on to launch Sauce in print in 2001. Since that time, the Sauce brand has evolved into several ancillary products such as SauceTV, and the Nationally recognized Sauce Food Truck Friday series, that serve & elevate the food-loving community in St. Louis. See http://stlcurator.com/allyson-mace/ for more.In February 2010, Allyson became the sole owner of Sauce Magazine and all its respective trademarks under her company, Bent Mind Creative Group, LLC.In October 2015, Allyson was awarded the honor of the FOLIO top 100 in the US media industry.In June 2011, Allyson was named to the "Most Influential Women In Business" list by the St. Louis Business Journal. She was also selected to serve on the prestigious STL Women In Media Panel and is now on the board representing print media.In March of 2021, Allyson became a partner and CMO in St. Louis-based Mighty Kind Co, producing cannabis seltzers.In October of 2023, Allyson sold the title Sauce Magazine to Big Lou Holdings which continues the print and operate the magazine in St. Louis.A native New Yorker, Allyson currently resides in St. Louis and has long since considered St. Louis her home. She is an alum of The University of Missouri, St. Louis. She is an avid photographer and a fan and supporter of the local arts community. She enjoys great conversation, and road trips in her 1966 Airstream with friends and her dogs, Edie and Charlie.
