• Responsible for engineering all capacity assessments for new and existing workloads on nearly 400 UNIX servers throughout Regence• Analyzed systems performance, and presented regular reports to upper management on utilization, trending, and capacity analysis & needs• Assisted other IT groups (developers, DBA's, middleware support, etc) on finding proper solutions for performance and capacity issues on UNIX systems• Worked closely with vendors to ensure proper configuration for new infrastructure• Installation of OS using DVD, NIM/mksysb for IBM, and Jumpstart/FLAR for Sun• Installation of VIOS, including setting up for full SAN, and network redundancy• Patch installation, OS upgrades, updates, storage additions, etc.• Participated in 24/7 on-call rotation, working directly with customers to resolve OS, hardware, and performance / capacity issues• Collaboration with other Engineers, management, and other groups to ensure highest customer satisfaction, top quality work, and deadlines met• Proficient with DLPAR, VIO, LPM, micro partitioning, Shared CPU/RAM pools
