My responsibilities included managing day to day laboratory operations, performing laboratory tests, implementing and maintaining the laboratory quality system, and maintaining GTA's AMRL laboratory accreditation. Our laboratory tests included grain-size analysis, liquid limit and plastic limit testing, standard and modified proctor, CBR, and chemical.

As a staff scientist at GTA, I was involved in a wide range of exploration programs. My duties included the coordination and logging of conventional test pit and boring explorations for geotechnical studies. Since the implementation of Pennsylvania's Stormwater BMP manual, many explorations have included infiltration testing for stormwater management.

As an engineering technician I performed construction observation and testing on earthwork and building projects. Daily duties included compaction testing using nuclear and sand cone methods, proof-rolling, one-point testing, moisture determinations, concrete testing, and reinforcing steel inspection. I have been involved in the inspection of soil nail.
