Serves as administrative and instructional leader of the school. Provides for continuous supervision and evaluation of the prescribed instructional program. Supervises the establishment of the school master schedule and the assignment of teachers. Provides orientation and in-service training for professional and classified staff. Interprets school programs to the community and directs and supervises both certificated and classified personnel assigned to the site. Is responsible during school hours and school functions for the health, safety, welfare and morale of all personnel and students. Consults with teachers, parents and students regarding pupil progress, welfare, discipline and attendance. Coordinates the development, selection or procurement of instructional materials and equipment. Coordinates essential auxiliary services, such as health, recreation, food services, transportation and maintenance. Directs the appropriate organization of student body activities and establishes liaison with appropriate youth agencies and interest groups. Prepares and submits preliminary budget requests and administers program budgets. Implements the district’s comprehensive evaluation program for certificated and classified personnel. Develops and maintains effective public and community relations programs and interprets the school program to the community. N. Implements and evaluates student behavior management programs. Maintains a proper school environment for students and employees. Follows a planned professional growth program, participates actively in local, state and national professional education and administrator associations, and studies local, state and national guidelines for effective school administration services.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Instructional Technology, the Administrator for STEAM Programs facilitates the development, training, and implementation of the district STEAM curriculum and programs. The STEAM Administrator facilitates, coordinates, and provides staff development for all STEAM initiatives to support student achievement. The STEAM Administrator will work closely with school principals, teachers, and staff to ensure that STEAM programs are aligned with district goals and provide students with high-quality learning experiences.

21st Century Learning Specialist provides instruction, training, and resources in order to facilitate the integration of 21 Century skills and pedagogy in the classroom to ensure college and career readiness for all students. The specialist recommends curricula materials, monitors instruction, provides staff development, coordinates division wide activities/events around 21st century teaching and learning that promote innovation and meets the digital demands of the Common Core State Standards.

Develop Middle School Esports curriculum and competitions. Support and supervise esports coaches as they deliver esports curricula. Developed Rocket League, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Brothers esports tournaments. Creating and supporting STEAM Challenges for all CSUDH Gear Up Sites.

Oversee the enrollment process of new students, ensuring that the requirements of LA CAUSA YouthBuild are met along with YouthBuild Charter School enrollment paperwork. Ensure that LA CAUSA maintains consistency with the YouthBuild Charter School goals, priorities, and practices. Created lesson plans based on project based learning, rooted in social justice for at risk students between the ages of 16-24. Piloted an iPad program in my technology course and developed an iPad curriculum around Project Based Learning and Social Justice. Our belief in the value of youth as leaders and agents of change in their communities are rooted in the nationally-acclaimed YouthBuild program model. Students at YCSC are 16-24 year-old participants in one of several local YouthBuild programs in California. Teachers at YCSC provide students with a classroom-based high school curriculum that values the culture and aspirations of youth while understanding the challenges that students face in under-resourced communities. We are looking for teachers who are creative, flexible, progressive, and who truly care about youth who have not done well in traditional school settings.
