I am a Master of Social Work student at the University of Illinois where I also completed my BS in intradisciplinary psychology. As an undergraduate, I was part of the Counseling Center Paraprofessional program which provides peer education and critical mental health outreach across campus. As a graduate student, I transitioned into a supervisory role in the program as a Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant, overseeing 24 undergraduate paraprofessionals in the fall semester and 46 in the spring. Through this experience, I discovered a love for supervising others and helping them grow as advocates for mental health.I am primarily interested in clinical social work, particularly adult mental health. I work from a person-centered perspective that emphasizes autonomy, empathy, collaboration, and authenticity. It is also very important to me to be trained as a trauma-informed therapist due to my own history of complex trauma and a deep understanding of its lifelong effects. Specific populations that I'm interested in working with include neurodivergent individuals and those who identify as LGBTQIA+.I recently began my internship as a therapist at Champaign Counseling. I look forward to learning from the incredible clinicians working there as I work toward graduation and licensure.
