Alyssa is the Assistant Director of Dementia Care Transformation at UT Dell Medical School Department of Neurology and Assistant Professor of Practice at the UT Steve Hicks School of Social Work. As a clinician-resesrcher, she has focused on building models of patient-centered dementia treatment within healthcare systems and caregiver support models. She has enjoyed presenting at the international, national, and state levels on topics related to dementia, caregiving, and palliative care. In addition to providing counseling to patients and family caregivers, she is an advocate for early diagnosis and evidence-based program interventions in communities and hospital systems. She is proud of her work on the Dementia Friendly America® and Roon initiatives; developing training and education videos.She is a recipient of the Sojourn Scholar Leadership Award from Cambia Foundation, holds a Specialist in Aging Certificate from the University of Michigan, and a Certificate in Interdisciplinary Teams and Healthcare from Boston University.
