I received my BA from Iowa Wesleyan University and my MEd from Concordia University. I taught 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English/Language Arts classrooms and middle school reading intervention for 17 years in a brick and mortar classroom. I am Second Chance Reading Certified, a Mandatory Reporter, CPR/AED certified, and have taken courses on human trafficking, college/career readiness, and adolescent mental health. I was also involved in the high school PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) team, the MTSS (Multi-tiered Systems of Support) team, served on the the Return to Learn committee, and served on the educational curriculum and supports team.I spent 1.5 years as a Director of Career Development, Internships, and Service Learning at Iowa Wesleyan University.
