Responsible for overseeing the QC team at Addgene. This includes overseeing day-to-day QC team duties, upholding standard best practices for QC analysis of our next generation sequencing results and depositor correspondences, and team task/resource allocation.

Roles include processing samples for Next generation Sequencing (NGS), performing quality control on our NGS results and corresponding with depositing scientists. I currently oversee a JR QC scientist and our rotating Northeastern co-op intern students. I also work closely with the scientist and outreach teams on updating and adding to Addgene's educational content. This includes writing blogs and updating other educational resource pages.

Addgene is a global, nonprofit repository that was created to help scientists share plasmids.

Responsibilities included completion of my research project, mentoring and training both undergraduates and fellow graduate students in lab techniques and protocols, inventory management, removal of hazardous waste, safety officer, and contact person for sales reps.

Taught genetics lab to freshman and sophomore students at Northeastern University. Consisted of two separate sections with approximately 25 people per class. Covered topics such as molecular cloning, Drosophilia genetic crosses, punnett squares, as well as DNA mutations and repair.

Spent a year working as a central accessioner in the general laboratory at Northern Westchester Hospital. Jobs included processing blood and bodily fluid samples from patients both within the hospital and from external doctor offices. Had to label and prepare samples for both in-house testing and blood tests that are completed by companies external to the hospital.

Conducted research on energy inputs of mouse oocyte maturation with the help of Professor Sorensen. Techniques utilized:Breeding and maintaining mice Mouse ovary removal Oocyte extraction and cell cultureProblem solving and critical thinking

Held group review and one-on-one tutoring sessions for students taking Biology 101 at Gettysburg College.

Pathology/ Histology Lab Summer 2009Participated in daily laboratory activities which included preparing tissues and slides for immuno-histochemistry techniques and analysis, filing, research, microscope work and the creation of tissue microarrays.Assisted in the research and completion of an experiment investigating the pathological and histological technique of plasma-thrombin clotting of cell lines. Research paper was published on the methods we utilized to optimize plasma-thrombin clotting of cell lines for pathological sectioning and analysis.
