I am an academic counselor and program advisor for Penn State University's TRIO Upward Bound Programs. I work with need-based, potential first-generation college students during high school to prepare them for their college journey! Our program collaborates with 9 schools across Pennsylvania, and I work closely with students from Mifflin County and Newport High Schools. I participate in weekly school visits with students, various Saturday programming, and our Summer Academy on University Park's campus at Penn State.Besides working directly with students, I collaborate with team members on boosting social media presence, researching student resources, and engaging in many professional development opportunities for TRIO programs nationwide.

For this role I built the yearly budget for our Her Campus chapter, managed each individual's dues, worked closely with ASA (association of student activities) and ensured the finances of our chapter were perfectly accounted for. I also took on the role of training the upcoming Treasurer for this organization. This had never been done by the organization prior, and I believe this decision to train will ensure the new Treasurer is comfortable and confident before taking over the financial responsibilities for the next semester.

Her Campus at PSU is a student-run organization, where I am responsible for editing and publishing content, recruitment, organizing weekly meetings, tracking content requirements, writing proficient articles, and overall maintaining Penn State's chapter of the Her Campus National website. Her Campus is a women-empowering site that encourages chapters worldwide. Working with and learning from hundreds of women within my time as this organization's chapter leader has been more than rewarding. I believe this position improved my writing, editing, organizational skills, and leadership qualities.

For this role I was responsible for a classroom of eight infants, alongside another teacher. I encouraged social development and motor skills amongst the students, ensured each child's needs were actively tended to, and provided a safe environment for the children to learn and grow. Working as an infant teacher is a great responsibility, and I greatly enjoyed this summer position. I was recommended to apply by my Child Psychology professor.
