Since I was a little girl with her nose stuck in a book, I’ve always been passionate about writing and the power that it holds, which translated to aspirations of a career in journalism once I could say the word. While at Abilene Christian University ('21, Scratch 'Em), I was able to complete several internships in news, editorial writing, content creation and feature writing while maintaining various roles at the award-winning student newspaper as well as teaching assistant positions for multiple journalism courses. This diverse (and busy) experience allowed me to dive into grad school quickly, and I received my master's in journalism from the University of North Texas in 2022 while working as a food and drink freelance writer across the Metroplex and becoming an editor at Advocate Media.The Advocate's commitment to hyperlocal journalism has provided me with such a warm, welcoming and engaged community. I am proud to be Editor of Plano Magazine and to work with Advocate's other publications in Lakewood/East Dallas, Lake Highlands, Preston Hollow and Oak Cliff. Each of these communities is unique in their own right, and I can't wait to see what the next chapters bring.Because education was so crucial to my career and great professors are what makes that happen, I am also an adjunct journalism professor open to teaching roles both remote and within DFW.
