Senior Child Development Teacher-An early child hood education expert, dedicated to creating curriculum and environments that promote the construction of knowledge through physical and social classroom interactions for ages 9 months to 3 years. RESPONSIBILITIES-Curriculum & Environment Development – Responsible for creating classroom curriculum and learning environments for ages 9 months to 3 years.-Portfolio Documentation – Maintenance of individual portfolios for each child using Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP), which documents progress and development stemming from individualized and group curriculum and different learning environments.-Infant & Toddler Development – Responsible for designing, implementing, and facilitating social and physical interactions that directly contribute to the development of infants and toddlers.-Laboratory Instruction & Development – Responsible for mentoring, instructing, and evaluating laboratory students from participating Schools of Education in early childhood education best practices. -Internal CEC Presentations – Selected to develop, create, and deliver CEC presentations to Educators within the UMKC and Berkley CFDC network. -Annual Research – Annually selecting a research topic and forming questions to be studied through observation of the children. Responsible for compiling and documenting results and presenting that information collectively to Berkley CFDC Educators.RESULTS -“Infants and Toddlers Learning Environments” presentation selected by the Kansas Association for the Education of Young Children (KSAEYC) to be presented to participating Educators at the 2018 KSAEYC Conference.-Designated to facilitate and organize monthly department meetings in 2016 & 2017.-Selected to create and deliver CEC Presentations to Berkley Educators in 2016 & 2017. “Avoiding a Power Struggle with Toddlers: Statements vs Questions” and “Nature Play with Infants & Toddlers”.
