Hello Linkedin world!My name is Alyssa Vera and I've worked as aParaprofessional in Deaf Education for 5 years. However, I'm realizing that the things that served me 5 years ago no longer serve me, nor is it in alignment with who I am now…and that's okay!I have a strong background in writing. In the past, I’ve worked with newspaper outlets, where my articles have placed in two contest categories on a statewide basis for the New York State Associated Press Association. I’ve also blogged for start-up businesses while maintaining a clean social media presence and consistent relationships with consumers. I am naturally creative, dynamic, and musically inclined, having also written my own music and helping other emerging artists do the same. For this reason, I am pivoting my direction and leaning towards jobs in the music/entertainment industry (while also remaining open to jobs in the publishing/copy-editing field). I am confident that I have transferable skills that can aid in my transition. Some of these skills include being pro-active, extremely attentive to detail, and staying calm and patient under pressure.My professional style is one that is warm and inviting, making me a pleasure to work with. I have an entrepreneurial spirit that makes me unafraid to take the lead in a way that considers my team as a whole. I am anticipating the best on my personal path to finding my dream job!
