Hello! I am an ecological designer at LandStudies, an ecological design and restoration firm focused on projects largely within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and ancestral homelands of First Nations people of the lower Susquehanna River basin (Conestogas, Susquehannocks, Shawnee, and others), and a Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner-in-Training (CERPIT). My past work experience includes instruction at the Environmental Design Institute for Temple University and roles in landscape architecture, ecological restoration and environmental science.I received a master of landscape architecture in May 2022 (Temple University, Tyler School of Art & Architecture) with a focus in ecological restoration and design. I was recognized as a 2022 Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) Olmsted Scholar, received two PA-DE American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Student Merit Awards and presented at the SER World Conference in 2021. Currently, I sit on the board for the SER Mid-Atlantic Chapter as an emerging professional, working to develop additional SER CERP-aligned universities and engage with student SER chapters. With an undergraduate degree in biology, focused in ecology, supplementing my work as a landscape architect, I examine a site's former and existing ecological and cultural systems to provide a research-based rationale for design decisions. My thesis work explored how implementing an Indigenous land management framework within a local ecosystem managed by the Lancaster Conservancy could simultaneously act as civic and climate resilient infrastructure, while providing awareness of the value of traditional ecological knowledge and support for Indigenous cultural landscapes.I am passionate about educating and empowering others to take care of the world around them, and encouraging reciprocal relationships between people and landscape. My hope is that I will be able to connect people and place in a meaningful manner that is grounded in research-based design, and provide experiences that connect people with their local ecosystem. I believe it is imperative to re-center, highlight and promote Indigenous knowledge and leadership within the profession of landscape architecture and ecological restoration, and engage in rematriation efforts. Outside of work, I am usually found tending to the forest garden surrounding my home, or fine tuning my craft in various artistic pursuits.
