Work with youth in communities to promote engagement and active citizenship, including gender awareness, employability, health and HIV/AIDS education, environmental awareness, sports and fitness programs, and information technology.Facilitated a weekly gender-specific youth program called Chicas Brillantes with 15-20 students, an educational program focused on leadership, self-esteem, healthy decision-making, sexual health, and goal setting. Graduates 12 Dominican teens from the Chicas Brillantes youth program. Collaborated with the high school guidance counselor to implement monthly presentations addressing sexual health, life-skills, and constructive use of free time for youth. Along with this I coordinated communications between the Ministry of Women and the high school and middle school guidance counselors to plan, organize, and present a half-day domestic violence conference that was attended by 80 to 100 adolescents, raised awareness of domestic abuse, and educated students about its different forms (verbal, emotional and physical).
