About Amanda Graham

. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology. I have a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor Certification and LPC in the state of Virginia. I am also a National Certified Counselor as well as a Fellow Associate Credentialed Advanced Substance Abuse Counselor. I am also a winner of the NBCC for the Minority Fellowship Program Mentor; I was published in Counseling Today September 2013 Issue. I have worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor, a Rehab Counselor and Therapist at Wallens Ridge State Prison, and as a Psycho-educational Specialist at Lee County Public Schools. Recently, I have worked as a Youth Career Counselor with Appalachian Community Action and Development Agency. I have also worked with Lindsey Wilson College, School of Professional Counseling as an Assistant Professor and a Resident Faculty Supervisor at one of our extended campuses supervising adjunct faculty and interns. This was a hybrid program with a mixture of online course work and live classes. I was also a course steward for Crisis Intervention course with LWC undergraduate course developing assignments, syllabus, and overall curriculum for the course. Currently I am employed with Mid-America Christian University and Kaplan University as an online instructor in the areas of counseling and human services and Psychology. I have worked in group counseling, individual counseling, crisis intervention, assessments, PTSD, case management, and have taught mental health classes to staff yearly while at Wallens Ridge State Prison.
