Field operations management of the Mt Poso (approximately 4,500 bopd, 130,000 bwpd) and Kern Front oil fields (6,000 bopd, 360,000 bwpd, 60,000 bsipd) including: maintenance work, development plan execution, steam and water injection management, drilling and workover rig activity, regulatory compliance and inspections, well operations and testing, facility and pipeline capital projects and optimizations, budget management, cost and production forecasting, abandonment program (over 200 P&A wells in 2022), leading field personnel and contract employees, commitment to HSE program and developing a safe and responsible work culture.

Manage the development of approximately 40 fields in the San Joaquin Basin and LA Basin in a variety of reservoirs and flood types (incl: waterflood, steamflood and primary) and at different development stages from appraisal to brown field redevelopment, manage the complex California regulatory process on both a field-wide and individual well basis, complete the SEC reserves process, provide internally and externally viewed economics for development plans, manage fluid and facilities forecasting, continual work on improving capital efficiency and lowering operating costs.

Support VP of Investor Relations, CFO and Executive Management by developing the company story and maintaining and developing relationships. Lead on earnings and conference presentations and scripts, internal and peer data analysis, financial modeling, press releases and website management, disclosures, sell-side and buy-side analyst relationships, shareholder inquiries, crisis management and public affairs.

Production/Operations engineer for the Lost Hills and Midway-Sunset steam floods. Manage new well completions, workovers, cyclic steam injection, surveillance, and overall production for the fields. Experience with DOGGR and Kern County EIR steamflood regulations, producing shallow oil (<100' ), shallow heat management in steam flood operations, rig and rigless workovers (pump optimization, acid jobs, jet washes, re-perfing, LET/TOW/injector conversions, cyclic stimulation, unit swap and optimization), complex abandonment operations, lease preservation and land obligations, CVR system, injector surveillance and maintenance.

Drill Site Manager on Golden State Drilling Rig #8. Manage day-to-day operations and coordinate contractor services. Extensive experience with shallow wells/high well count and rapid pace of activity (1-5 days per well). Work to deliver wells under budget on cost and time, eliminate micro-NPT with procedural changes, ensure safety of all employees and contractors, and promote a cohesive and rewarding work environment. Experience with directional drilling, open hole gravel packing, water disposal wells, high temperature/steam field environment, exploration wells and coring, packers, liners, underreamers, open hole logging, cement primary and plug jobs, abandonment and kickoffs, BLM and DOGGR regulations, well control.

Lead drilling engineer for Western Shallow Oil Zone drilling and Co-Lead for Eastern Shallow Oil Zone drilling. Experience includes: severe lost circulation and depleted zones, shallow gas, swelling clays and well bore stability issues, open hole completions with a drilling rig (gravel pack design), high volume well count, government permitting for all wells drilled, bit and tool selection, casing design, mud system design and optimization, wireline/through-drill-pipe/shuttle logs. Able to decrease average well cost by approximately 12% per well over 5 months with changes to mud program, operational procedures, BHA design, and cement design. Previously worked 5 months of DSM field rotations (1 week in the office as a drilling engineer, 2 weeks in the field as a drill site manager) in the Elk Hills field. Experience on Ensign ADR rigs and H&P Flex 3 rigs. Drilling shallow oil zone wells, water disposal wells, Stevens wells, and Shale wells. Exposure to a variety of tools, bits, formations, and personnel.

Designed completion programs for new wells drilled in South Texas. Managed frac jobs and coil tubing cleanouts--either in the field directly or remotely for all jobs. Gained exposure to frac design, coil tubing operations, HPHT completions, 2-7/8" and 3-1/2" casing limitations, plug-and-perf vs. sliding sleeve, vertical vs. horizontal completions. Successfully tested new completion fluid program based on down hole temperature estimates and fluid specs. Alternate fluid design projected to save ~$8,000 per stage <100,000 lbs, ~$15,000 per stage >100,000 lbs.

Worked in the South Texas drilling group to analyze bottom-hole assembly (BHA) design. Used high-resolution data analysis to make modifications to intermediate and production section BHAs--then tested recommendations. Results included #1 company-wide record for most feet drilled in 24 hours (7,286' in 24 hours, vs. a previous company-wide record of 6,670' and field record of 6,588'), and performance savings of over $3.7MM for the remainder of 2012 on a single project. Worked on flat-time optimization to improve hidden NPT in rig moves and BOP testing procedures. Created a pore-pressure prediction model based on Mechanical Specific Energy (MSE) and Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS). Expanded the BHA-analysis method to other business units and created user-friendly tools to allow work to continue seamlessly beyond the internship.

Worked in the Central Drilling Group to analyze Mechanical Specific Energy (MSE) performance in the Permian and Mid-Continent business units. Identified issues with Permian's third party implementation and developed an alternative, in-house method of implementation--which was successfully tested in the Hugoton to set a new field record for drilling performance in ROP and cost (demonstrated an annual savings of 2.8% on total drilling costs for Hugoton project with new implementation). When expanded to the Permian drilling group, the alternative implementation saved an average of $400,000 per rig in eliminated third party costs, and an additional $8,000 per well in drilling performance over previous MSE implementation. Expanded the in-house MSE method and wrote a user-friendly analysis program used by the Central Drilling Group, Williston, South Texas, Permian, and Hugoton.

Created a live-updating database of water quality data for Oxy Permian. Used database and Hall plot method to prove water quality was not affecting injection plugging. Evaluated diverse water quality standards across the business unit and established universal standards and testing procedures. Identified problem areas/facilities for improvement based on oil-in-water content and total solids given in the database. Able to identify $8MM in "easy" increased production opportunities.
