Associate Attorney at Fisher Stark, P.A. with a passion for Civil Litigation.Graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. During law school, I worked as a law clerk at Popowski & Shirley, a Personal Injury firm, wherein I assisted in writing briefs, drafting summons and complaints, responding to discovery, conducting legal research, creating mediation binders, and writing motions for the court. The firm focused primarily on workers’ compensation as well as a variety of civil claims, including: nursing home neglect, medical malpractice, insurance bad faith, automobile negligence, premises liability, and general civil litigation. In my final semester of law school, I was enrolled in a Civil Litigation Capstone where we were divided into different law firms and engaged in the pre-trial process (client intake, depositions, discovery, and mediation.)I have also taken Trial Advocacy where I tried a case from start to finish calling witnesses, giving opening/closings, and creating a theme for my case. Each week in that class, I learned and practiced skills necessary for oral argument, trial preparation, and witness examinations. I have also taken Alternative Dispute Resolution which has prepared me for negotiations, mediations, and arbitration proceedings. I am a graduate of Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts in both Philosophy and Political Philosophy with a minor in Political Science. In the past, I have interned for the U.S. Department of Justice and worked on civil cases such as §2410 foreclosures and medical malpractice cases involving government entities. I have also interned for the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy where we sought to make justice accessible to all, especially those in the low-income population of Mecklenburg County.I am a voice for the voiceless and an advocate for all. Much of my work is evaluating different philosophies and hearing thoughts from all perspectives.Philosophy is my passion and has helped me grow my understanding of the world inside and outside of the legal field.
