Georgio’s Pizza is a small stand-alone single-owner restraint that runs on a small number of employees per shift. The duties of my position include greeting customers, usual server duties, bus table, cleaning the restaurant and dishes, handling Togo orders and phone calls, processing customer payments, opening, and closing orders in the computer system, and preparing the vegetables for the salad bar and mixing the homemade dressings.

The merchandising associate is responsible for generating daily reports on the department inventory on hand so that the floor always has the maximum amount of product available for the customer. I was the morning lead in the stock room that unloaded and sorted the incoming merchandise for transitional trends. A team of advertisement leads, and I would work before store hours to change seasonal and promotional displays throughout the store. My department was in the women’s area, and I was responsible for gathering impulse buy data, so we knew what to keep in stock and what to process out for clearance. Opening and closing duties included balancing and confirming register information, running sales reports, and notifying associates of promotions and coupons currently active.

At Gulf States Trucking my original position was for outside sales. This job description consisted of me following leads, or cold calling businesses within the oil and gas industry and offering a competitive contract for local and long-distance trucking needs. Due to an impending stalemate in the oil and gas industry, there was a slow business period with a large turnaround inside the company, due to this situation I was transferred to dispatching and worked alongside the drivers and customers to satisfy the logistic needs of both parties. These requirements included knowing the truck and trailer sizes and capability of the company fleet, coordinating driver schedules so the load expectancy is even distributed, and providing customer service for our customers in use.

Pioneer Global Integrated Logistics is a third-party logistics coordinator for GE Energy. When I started at GE, I worked part-time in the warehouse confirming the weight and measurement of all domestic packages and generating the labels for UPS and Fed Ex shipments. I was promoted to international shipments shortly after and learned to generate the international documents needed for shipments including certificate of origins, scheduling the transportation modes, running daily Excel reports for revenue shipped and orders still open for shipment, contracting new trucking companies for hot shots and long hauls, and generating international labels. Once I was promoted to logistics manager, I oversaw the daily operations in the office and worked side by side with the warehouse employees to prioritize urgent and special project shipments. I stayed on the warehouse floor while the pallets were loaded to ensure they were bound to the right location via the correct courier, and presented the reports generated the night before at the morning meeting the next day. As the manager, I established a framework and checklist of how to handle closed orders for future audits. Once I was promoted to logistics specialist I traveled with the CEO and Regional manager to contract meetings to expand our location. We contracted in Alexandria, Louisiana, Woodlands, Texas, and Naples, Italy. My title was restructured to international logistics specialist, and I moved to Italy in early 2014 to implement the new operation and help GE transition from SAP to Oracle applications. I restructured the warehouse based on the one in Deer Park and helped work out the issues in the new Oracle applications system of the outbound shipment and revenue tracking.
