Amanda Glover’s expertise is in developing creative rural economies, providing economic opportunities for entrepreneurs, and enhancing a diverse business climate.She develops and implements economic development initiatives that are focused on attracting, growing, and retaining corporate headquarters, advanced manufacturing, value-added agriculture, and creative professionals. She coordinates economic incentives with businesses using return on investment models and spearheads the business retention and economic development marketing efforts for Augusta County. Ms. Glover is a member of the International Economic Development Council, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Virginia Economic Developer's Association. She serves on the Virginia Economic Developer’s Association’s board of directors, the Shenandoah Valley Partnership’s marketing committee, and the Fields of Gold steering and marketing committees. Prior to joining Augusta County, Ms. Glover served as the Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of Staunton for seven and a half years and before that, served as the first-ever Business Development Coordinator for the City of Buena Vista.Ms. Glover earned a B.S. in Applied Economics, Environmental Economics, and Management & Policy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 2002. She holds a Masters Certificate in Local Government Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, and studied at The Center for European Studies and Architecture, in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland.Ms. Glover resides in the Pastures District of Augusta County, Virginia with her husband, John and border collie, Hank.
