-I was responsible for helping set up tables, chairs and decorations for both weddings and company events. -I also served food and made sure that the guests had the most unbelievable experience!

As part of the Hospitality Management Major requirements for Seniors, we are responsible for planning and executing an event alongside five other team members. My role was to be the Reception Manager and to give guests an exceptional first impression of our event. Other roles included Dining Room and Back of House Mangers. Our theme was Candy Land and the event was given the name, "A Sweet Soiree, An Adventure in Candy Land." Our team had to come up with and create a menu to serve the guests- including appetizers, a full course meal and desert, and determine the layout, flow and decor of the reception and dining room. The event was a huge success and taught me leadership skills, organization, patience, team work and management skills. -A total of 100 guests were in attendance-I managed around 18 employees the day of the event and assigned them tasks during set up and during the execution of the event-Organized and planned how the reception area would look by buying and making decorations to match the theme of Candy Land-Learned how to be a good team member and leader

-I was responsible for helping plan several events for a local organization, some serving about 400 guests. -I connected and worked with catering managers within hotels in the area and was apart of the entire planning process. -I examined and approved Banquet Event Orders.-I helped prepare the organization for a big walk that they hold in October, by ordering the promotional materials.

-I was in charge of helping the company organize their files and paperwork. -I also helped plan several small events, which included business meetings and company holiday parties.

-I worked in the James Madison University Dining Hall. -I helped make, prepare and serve food to other students.-I learned how to apply ServSafe food and food safety guidelines

-Worked as a hostess and seated customers to their tables-Helped customers in the retail section of the store -Took to-go orders.

-I was a volunteer at a homeless shelter where I helped prepare and serve food to the homeless. -One night I was the one who bought, made and served the food, which consisted of hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, fruit and lemonade.
