The warmth of the spring sun, wildflowers are just starting to bloom, wildlife all around, snowcapped mountains in the background, and all I could do was watch the little calves play all around me. That was the moment I knew that Agriculture was forever going to be my passion.Joining 4-H and FFA only drove my passion livestock even further then I could ever imagine along with gaining lifelong skills. Being on many officer team, I not only gained leadership skills that I am continually using and growing upon. Being a team player to accomplish a common goal is not only gives you skill for college, but more importantly a future job. One of the best skills that I learned though these organizations was public speaking. Not only did I gain the confidence to give speakers in front of my community but then later being able to have the confidence to speak a the state and at a national level. Joining the livestock judging team not only allowed me to travel the country seeing how people run their operations, but I gained decision making skills, confidence in myself, as well as the ability to speak in front of strangers. I attended North West College in Powell, Wyoming to pursue a degree in Animal Science and Ag Business. I decided to then transfer to the University of Wyoming to obtain my Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science with a concentration in production. Getting to travel the country looking at livestock and along the way explain what livestock judging meant and my passion for livestock I realized that I wanted to take that a step further and pursue a degree in Ag communication. With this degree I hope to use my photography, communication, leadership and teamwork skills to be an advocate for agriculture. I not only enjoy learning new things and have a variety of skill that can help me in any job. I also have a unique set of contacts and the resources to help me in any job.
