About Amanda Hatfield

My background is as a secondary social studies teacher in both a traditional classroom and a fully asynchronous virtual environment. By sheer happen-stance, I was on personal leave when the pandemic started and have not wanted to go back into the figurative (and potentially literal) "line of fire" that teaching has become.I loved helping my kids be successful, especially my AVID kiddos. I loved exploring new technologies in my classroom to help make the content more engaging for the students and sharing those tools with my colleagues. I loved trying to approaches and helping other teachers try new things in their own classrooms. I loved trying to help my school and district improve. I would love to be able to continue all of these things, but in a different capacity. As a #transitioningteacher, I want to continue to help students, but I think I can do that more effectively and with a better balance of life-work through curriculum development or coaching teachers.
