I began my adventure with PFIA as a New Business Associate, which comprised of keying insurance applications and guiding them through the underwriting journey or the missing-key-items experience. I also had the opportunity to wear multiple hats by training to cover the receptionist and I even received my first bout of Agency while the sole Agency Associate went on maternity leave!February 2021, I was offered the role of Claims Associate. I enjoy learning new things, so I hopped across the office and took to a more customer-and-agent facing role, answering helpful questions and processing the occasional heartbreaking claim. It was a more in-depth process that emphasized the importance of role I had in the New Business Department- any mistakes in applications adversely affect the claims process!In May 2021, I was offered the role of Agency Associate and I accepted it immediately. This role so far has proven to be the most challenging- I track sales data for over 200 agents and answer all of their questions about commissions, sales numbers, and their contracts among other things. I am a go-to for the six regional managers based around the country and assist the Senior Vice President, Executive Secretary with weekly and monthly tasks. I also found my love for Microsoft Excel in this role. It's been an enjoyable journey as I venture towards more complex roles and discover my own potential!

I filled in for various roles for clients of Robert Half while I completed a summer course for my graduate program and a genealogy course for personal enrichment. Once I finished those courses, I asked Robert Half if there were any full time temp-to-hire roles available, and they placed me with Police and Firemen's Insurance Association in July 2019. I was hired with PFIA in November 2019.

I had a variety of tasks at the library:-Promote less-used media for circulation-Explain and enforce library policy in regards to fines, computers, and conduct-Assist patrons with media-Contact patrons with holds -Check in/out library media-Assist patrons with computers, copiers, and other library servicesThe Speedway Public Library is not part of the Indianapolis Public Library system, and part of my role involved mapping out where the patron lived to verify they were a Speedway resident. This role was also one that included teamwork, as knowledge and experience was varied. I learned a lot about the relationship between libraries, the government, and taxpayers during my time here not to mention how to engage patrons to visit the library and all the wonderful things libraries do for patrons and visitors!

I worked on a six-person team to cover activities for the entire facility. My main responsibility was a 54-bed skilled nursing unit. The residents had a variety of physical, emotional, and intellectual needs and it was my job to be the granddaughter/niece/eccentric relative they needed on the daily. I worked with volunteers, resident family members, and outside entertainers to enrich the residents' time at our facility. For as much time as I spent on the unit, I spent an equal amount of time charting activity attendance, engagement, and reflecting on successes and improvements.I greatly enjoyed the varieties in tasks and activities this role provided and have many stories to tell of my times at Otterbein-Franklin.
