As the Compliance Assistant I am primarily responsible for the design and implementation of the faculty provider credentialing program at the SDM, including implementation of an electronic credentialing system and related procedures to meet National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS). In addition, I am tasked with completing targeted and ongoing auditing to ensure compliance with University at Buffalo and SDM HIPAA policies and NYS Department of Health (DOH) regulations. In addition to these responsibilities I am charged with tracking Quality Assurance outcomes to ensure compliance with DOH and Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards.

As a Patient Manager at the School of Dental Medicine, I was responsible for closely managing thirty-seven dental student schedules to ensure that both the complex clinical needs of the patients, as well as the graduation requirements for the students were met within tightly proscribed timelines. I was also charged with independently advising the students with daily and annual assigned duties. Through this experience I significantly grew my student advisement skills, and through professional but empathetic interactions developed a repertoire with students, faculty and staff that maximized student success in the program.

Buffalo/Niagara, New York Area

In my role as an assistant to the Alumni Association, I planned the second largest annual dental conference in NY State, oversaw registration of over 1,500 attendees and was responsible for recruiting and training of over 30 volunteers. On location I was responsible for immediate problem solving that has served as great experience for future endeavors. In order to steward and create new relationships with alumni, I implemented new marketing strategies utilizing social media and email list servs.
