I have a role in leading method development, validation, and routine testing of client biologics in a GMP environment. I have particular focus on flow cytometry-based and potency bioassays, though I also have experience with impurity assays such as Protein A ELISAs and CHO DNA qPCR.

Independently and collaboratively developed, performed, and analyzed assays including extensive cell culture, ELISA, luciferase, Cell Titer Glo, resazurin, imaging, and flow cytometry methods with emphasis in T cell immuno-oncology . I developed and ran multi-color flow panels and isolated and cultured primary murine and human immune cells along with cell lines. I also assisted in the development of colleagues' flow panels as well as providing guidance in running and analyzing flow experiments until they were comfortable performing their assays independently.

I taught undergraduate lab courses in the Fall and Spring semesters of every year with classes ranging in size from 12 students to 36 students. Courses I taught included:Immunology laboratory-Determined supplies needed and prepared supplies for each course meeting-Developed and gave lectures on course material-Rewrote lab manual and student data sheets for the course, including creating many new figures/diagrams-Wrote and graded weekly quizzes and examsIntro to microbiology laboratory-Assisted students to understand specific micro techniques and to develop presentations on those techniques for each course meeting-Helped students use methods learned during the semester to identify unknown microbial species, with emphasis on choosing good controls and using logical process of elimination to choose which tests to perform-Taught foundations of good scientific writing and evaluated student writing in the form of lab reports, focus on returning useful feedbackIntro to organismal biology laboratory-Guided small groups of students through lab exercises-Frequent one-on-one interactions facilitated clarification and discussion of lecture topics as well as opportunities to nurture enthusiasm for science
