I work as a Social Work intern to connect families with resources that enrich their child's development and access to supports. In this role, I have provided system navigation through Home and Community Based Services waiver in various states, and helped families navigate SSI.I have been the point person for our spanish speaking clients. I have worked to help them understand our complicated services systems and provided a space where they can share about their challenges and desires.I also co-led a social skills DBT group for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

I volunteer twice a week, helping with lunch and just participating in daily programming like Karoake, Bingo, and arts and crafts. I pair one on one with participants and help them stay focused and involved.

I worked as a part of the preschool social work team. I conducted home visits for families in transition and those with a child with a disability. I helped families get connected to resources such as Medicaid diapers, mental health supports, and safety resources.I also worked to connect kids with little resources to the community supports that would help them engage in their passions.I worked with spanish speaking families and helped translate applications for services

I work as one of the 6 core managers at Extraordinary Ventures. We work as a team to run 6 small businesses that focus on employing individuals with disabilities. My core responsibilities are managing our dog walking business and our bus cleaning business. I also work with the daily operations of the event and laundry businesses.

I worked with two different individuals with disabilities. During my first job, I worked at home with the participant and helped him with personal care as well as working towards his daily goas. The second participant that I worked with was a college student so I went to class with her and helped her take notes and manage her anxiety.

I worked with two students, ages 6 and 12, with their English. I worked twice a week with the twelve-year-old. She had a strong Englihs base so we focused on grammer, pronunciation, and growing her vocabulary. The six-year-old knew very little English so I taught him through games and play.

I volunteered weekly with various age groups as a classroom assistant. I helped the teachers facilitate spanish conversation and instill confidence and pride in the students about their native language.
